Capital Project Overview

The Geneva City School District’s proposed capital project passed with 75 percent of voters in favor on Dec. 7, 2021.
Construction is expected to begin in spring 2023.

Our district is committed to providing a safe learning environment and well-maintained facilities for students and public use. Because of careful project planning, use of reserves, anticipated building aid, and consideration of our taxpayers, this project will have no additional tax increase for district residents and businesses.
Funding Sources

- The project will be paid through two sources:
- New York State Building Aid
- School District Capital Reserves
- Funding will result in a zero ($0) tax impact to the community
- The finalized project scope will stay within the State designed debt limit
- The project does not need New York State approval to exceed the debt limit
- The project can be approved with a simple majority (over 50 percent) instead of a super majority (over 60 percent)
