  • Reverend Edward and Coretha Jenkins Scholarship: 

    (Deadline:  April 28, 2023)

    Recipients of these scholarships ranging up to $500 must be a GHS graduating senior of African-American descent and citizens of the United States.  They must demonstrate good character, moral and good academic standing, financial need, and have at least one quality that relates to that of Rev. and Mrs. Jenkins.  Applications are available in the Counseling Office.

  • Geneva Center of Concern 2023 Scholar Award: 

    (Deadline:  April 23, 2023)

    The Geneva Center of Concern is awarding up to ten $1,000 scholar awards based on these criteria:  Individual involvement in our community, personal goals, career choice, scholastic achievement, and school activities.  Applications are available in the Counseling Office.

  • Colaa Medical Transport LLC Scholarship

    (Deadline:  April 28, 2023)

    Colaa Medical Transport LLC is a company that provides medical transportation services through the NYS Medicaid Program.  To help students and give back to the community, two $500 scholarships are given to recipients planning to pursue a career in the medical and health field.  Applications are available in the Counseling Office.

  • CSEA Local 835 Senior Award:  (Deadline:  April 21, 2023)

    Up to four $500 awards will be given to current graduating seniors with a parent or legal guardian who is an active member of Ontario County Local 835.  A 500 minimum word essay is required on one of three topics given.  Applications are available in the Counseling Office.

  • Martin Luther King Scholarship Award: 

    (Deadline:  April 14, 2023)

    The Martin Luther King, Jr. Scholarship Committee provides awards to African-American or Hispanic GHS graduating seniors who have attained a good academic average, have been accepted into an institute of higher learning and will attend during the fall semester.  The recipients are good, solid citizens of strong character, representative of the legacy of the late Dr. King.  The Martin Luther King Scholarship Award is a $3,000 non-renewable award that must be used within two years from the date of receipt.  Applications are available in the Counseling Office.

  • FLACE Harriet M. Goodsell Scholarship: 

    (Deadline:  April 21, 2023)

    One qualifying senior from each school district in Ontario County will be awarded $1,000 to further their education.  Seniors who fit the criteria “to educate young men and young women who are worthy of such assistance, of good character and not addicted to the use of cigarettes, tobacco, or liquor” may apply.  Applications are available in the Counseling Office.

  • Anne Acree Memorial Scholarship: 

    (Deadline:  May 5, 2023)

    Scholarships are given to Geneva High School seniors who were once students in the Geneva Head Start Program.  They are given in memory of Anne Acree who served as director of Head Start for 16 years until her death in December 2002.  It was Anne’s goal that all children should have every possible opportunity to achieve academic success.  The recipients are seniors whom the selection committee feels has demonstrated a commitment to academic achievement, community service and responsible citizenship.  Applications are available in the Counseling Office.

  • Geneva Teachers’ Association Scholarships: 

    (Deadline:  April 21, 2023)

    The Geneva Teachers’ Association award is given to up to three Geneva High School graduating seniors.  Applicants for these $400 awards must be a senior in good standing at GHS, be accepted at a 2- or 4-year college or university, and plan on attending college.  Applications are available in the Counseling Office.

  • Marsha Houser Memorial Scholarship: 

    (Deadline:  April 21, 2023)

    This scholarship was created to honor Marsha Houser, who was a Teaching Assistant at West Street School for many years.  She exhibited a strong work ethic, a passion for learning, and immeasurable kindness toward others.  Personally, Marsha was an avid reader who could be found passing her love of reading and writing onto her students and grandchildren.  She was someone who others could always count on to not only be a dedicated colleague, but also a true friend.  

    Eligibility Requirements:  The applicant must be a senior student who is attending college.  The student applying should exhibit strong interest in the areas of literature and writing.  This scholarship is intended for a student who exemplifies Marsha’s qualities and characteristics.

  • Hydrant Hose Company Firefighters Scholarship: 

    (Deadline:  April 28, 2023)

    The Hydrant Hose Volunteer Fire Company in Geneva would like to provide a $500 annual scholarship to a senior who may be interested in continuing education in fire science and/or has an interest in becoming a firefighter.  To be eligible for this award, the applicants must:  be a senior in good standing at GHS, display good citizenship, and have an interest in continuing education in fire science and/or has an interest in becoming a firefighter.  Applications are available in the Counseling Office.

  • Geneva Theatre Guild Brenton & Eleanor Stearns Theatre Arts Scholarship: 

    (Deadline:  April 15, 2023)                                                                    

    This $300 scholarship is given to a senior active in high school and/or community theatre productions.  Students must have participated in some capacity in theatre productions (school and/or community) during grades 9-12.  All production related positions are eligible—acting, technical (sound, lighting), design (set, costumes, media), production staff (director, stage management, etc.).  Applications are available in the Counseling Office.

  • Knights of Columbus Ladies Auxiliary Scholarship:  (Deadline:  April 9, 2023)

    The purpose of the Ladies Auxiliary is to participate in charitable, church, community, and family activities by giving of a member’s time and energy in service to others.  The $500 scholarship recipient will demonstrate the same qualities.  Applicants must be a current senior class member of Geneva High School and must be Catholic.  Applications are available in the Counseling Office.

  • Jade Aaliyah Turner Memorial Scholarship: 

    (Deadline:  April 21, 2023)

    Before her untimely passing, Jade Turner was a sophomore at Geneva High School.  She was radiant, caring, and aspired to be a nurse.  Though Jade did not have the opportunity to pursue her passions, this memorial scholarship will honor her life by helping afford that chance to others.  Any graduating senior from Geneva High School who has been accepted into a nursing program is welcome and encouraged to apply.  Recipients may receive an award ranging from $500-$1,000.  Award amounts will depend on available funds and the quality of the application.  Funds will be distributed directly to the institution in which the recipient is enrolled.  Applications are available in the Counseling Office.

  • Eisenhower College Alumni Association, Inc. Scholarship: 

    (Deadline:  June 1, 2023)

    This scholarship provides financial assistance to students who, in the judgment of alumni, best exemplify the goals of Eisenhower College, its World Studies program, and the ideals of Dwight D. Eisenhower.  This is open to high school seniors who plan to continue their studies n a liberal arts program at either a 2- or 4-year college.  A one-time award of up to $5,000 can be used toward tuition and related expenses at the recipient’s college of choice.  Applications are available in the Counseling Office.

  • African American Men’s Association Life Skills Scholarship:  (Deadline:  April 28, 2023)

    Scholarships ranging from $500 to $1,500 are given per semester in one-half increments of first year in college.  Applicants must be a graduating high school senior, accepted to a 2- or 4 year accredited equivalent college, and demonstrated history of community service through employment or volunteering.  Applications are available in the Counseling Office.

  • Temple Beth-El Tikkun Olam Award: 

    (Deadline:  March 29, 2023)

    Temple Beth-El of Geneva sponsors this award to a graduating senior who best represents the values of Tikkun Olam.  Tikkun Olam, or “repairing of the world” is the idea that as Jews we are called upon to make the world more just, peaceful, tolerant, and equitable through acts of charity, kindness, and political action.  We believe that “working for justice and equality” is a key part of what being Jewish is all about.  This award is given to a student who demonstrates a commitment to Tikkun Olam, “repairing the world.”

    Eligibility Requirements:  The applicant must be a senior student who is continuing their education beyond high school.  An essay is required that answers the following question:  Describe how you work toward making the world more just, peaceful, tolerant, and equitable through acts of charity, kindness, and political action.

  • Hildreth Hill Neighborhood Association Scholarship: 

    (Deadline:  April 21, 2023)

    The Hildreth Hill Neighborhood Association will award a $300 scholarship to a senior with the following qualifications: 

    • Graduating senior who lives within the Hildreth Hill Neighborhood (map available for determining if you qualify).
    • Accepted for a continuing education program, including certification, licensing studies, 2 or 4-year college
    • History of community service
    • Medium to high GPA.

  • Dale Duchesne Memorial Award: 

    (Deadline:  May 26, 2023)

    An award of $500 shall be made to a Geneva High School senior who has been accepted at a 2- or 4-year college to pursue a degree in journalism or photograph.  Majors that qualify are Communications / Journalism / Photography / Mass Communications. Selection of the award recipient will be made by the award sponsor, The Finger Lakes Times newspaper, where Duchesne was employed for nearly 20 years.  Applications are available in the Counseling Office.

  • NYSSFA Wayne-Finger Lakes Chapter Scholarships: 

    (Deadline:  April 15, 2023)

    W-FL Chapter Scholarship:  The Wayne Finger Lakes Chapter of the New York State School Facilities Association Chapter Scholarships were established to encourage students to pursue college-level/ trades careers in the fields of engineering, architecture, construction management and trades.  Each year two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to qualified Wayne Finger Lakes Region college or trade school bound seniors who are pursuing majors in engineering studies, architecture, construction management or trades.  To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must complete an essay detailing their dedication to a career field that will support the building maintenance field.  Eligibility includes: a senior in good standing, documentation of acceptance to a college/trade school, and at least 2 letters of reference.

    Jimmy Nikolevski Memorial Scholarship

    The Jimmy Nikolevski Memorial Scholarship was established by the Wayne-Finger Lakes Chapter of the New York State School Facilities Association to honor the memory of Jimmy Nikolevski. Jimmy was a long-standing employee in both the Williamson School District and Wayne Finger Lakes BOCES.  Each year a $1,000 scholarship is awarded to one graduating senior in any Wayne-Finger Lakes BOCES Career and Technical program to assist with costs associated with attending the college or trade school of their choice or in purchasing needed tools or safety equipment for a post-graduate career.  To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must exemplify the characteristics that best described Jimmy and complete an essay detailing how they can and will create a positive impact on the world around them.  Applicants must be dedicated to helping their family and community.  They must exhibit a sense of curiosity and wonder.  They must exhibit kindness and humor without disparaging others.  Applicants must be a senior enrolled in a WFL BOCES or Component District CTE program, a senior in good standing at both the home school and the tech program, documentation of acceptance to a college/trade school or an accepted job offer in their field of choice, at least 2 letters of reference, and a completed essay.  Applications are available at https://forms.gle/Kd7VcyfW3RU1Hmoz9.

  • CASELLA WASTE MANAGEMENT SCHOLARSHIP: 

    (Deadline:  March 24, 2023)

    Eight $2,500 academic scholarships are again available to qualified Ontario County (applicants must be a resident of Ontario County) college or college-bound students who are pursuing majors in environmental studies, agriculture, or agricultural business including waste management.  Eligibility includes college-bound, graduating high school seniors who have been accepted into a recognized (registered) college-level program of study leading to an associate or bachelor’s degree in fields related to environmental science, environmental engineering, agriculture, agriculture business and/or waste management; are U.S. citizens or possess permanent resident visas at the time of application; and can demonstrate academic proficiency.  Applications are available at https://www.ontariocountryny.gov/1700/Sustainability-Solid-Waste-Management.

  • Thompson Health Guild Scholarship: 

    (Deadline:  April 7, 2023)

    The Thompson Health Guild is offering up to five $2,000 scholarships to be awarded to students who have been enrolled the entire senior year in a high school located in the service area of the UR/Thompson Health System, Inc.  These awards will be made based on merit to high school seniors who will enroll in any university, college, or proprietary school offering post-secondary education in a health-related field.  The scholarship awards are not restricted to a New York State college or university. 

    Health Care Professions Eligible for Scholarships: 

    Biomedical Engineer/Scientist / Dental Hygienist / Dietician / Health Care Administration / Laboratory Technician / Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) / Massage Therapist / Medical Assistant / Nurse / Nurse Practitioner / Occupational Therapist / Occupational Therapy Assistant / Optometrist / Pharmacist / Physical Therapist / Physical Therapy Assistant / Physician / Physician’s Assistant / Physiologist / Psychologist / Psychiatrist / Radiologic Technician / Speech Therapist / Sports Medicine.

    The scholarship award will be made in January 2024 following the recipient’s successful completion of the first semester of college with intent to continue to study in a health-related field.  The UR/Thompson Health Guild must receive confirmation of fall grades and registration/ payment for the second semester before the award is issued to the student.  Payment will be made directly to the student.  The Scholarship Application and Guidance Counselor Forms are available online at https://www.thompsonhealth.com/Foundation/Thompson-Guild/Guilds-Scholarship.

  • The Brian K. Fowler, MD Health Professions Scholarship:  (Deadline:  April 7, 2023)

    This $1,500 scholarship will be awarded to two seniors who are interested in a career in medicine (doctor, physician assistant, nurse, pharmacist, physical therapist, etc.).  Recipients of the scholarship will also receive life-long mentorship and guidance en route to their desired profession.  All seniors interested in medicine are encouraged to apply, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds!

    To be eligible for this award the applicants must:

    • Student college plans should be focused on pursuing a career in the medical field.
    • Student should demonstrate their interest in medicine through community service, volunteering, shadowing, and other experiences.
    • Student should have a strong GPA.
    • Student should have personal characteristics that display hard work, dedication, altruism, and selflessness.

  • Zonta Club of Geneva:  (Deadline:  April 3, 2023)

    Zonta’s objectives are to improve the legal, political, economic, and professional status of women.  Two $750 scholarships will be awarded.  Applicants must be female senior residents of Geneva, Midlakes, Romulus, Seneca Falls, Waterloo, or the general areas. Applicants must have been accepted at a 2- or 4-year accredited institution of higher learning and demonstrate goals and ideals similar to those stated in Zonta’s objectives.  Applications are available in the Counseling Office.

  • SAGES (Student Association o the Geneva Experiment Station) Advancement in Agricultural Studies Scholarship: 

    (Deadline:  April 15, 2023)

    This scholarship is awarded to area high school seniors who are interested in pursuing agricultural studies.  Applicants must be graduating high school seniors who intend to enroll in a 2- or 4-year degree program in the agricultural sciences.  Applications are available in the Counseling Office.

  • James H. Rice Memorial Scholarship: 

    (Deadline:  March 31, 2023)

    A minimum of two $1,000 scholarships will be offered by the Freemasons of the Ontario, Seneca, and Yates Counties in memory of James H. Rice to seniors in all fifteen schools in the three counties.  The scholarships are designed to assist graduating seniors in pursuing a post-secondary education in any state at an accredited institution which provides a 2- or 4-year college program.  The scholarship may be used for any bona fide school related expense such as tuition, fees, books, and room and aboard.  Applicants should exhibit the  greatest potential to be not only of service to their communities in the future, but also leaders in these communities.  Academic records, communication skills, and the need for financial assistance are considered.
