3. Director’s Report: 12:18–12:28 p.m.: Karissa & Jena
- Anne Acree Memorial Scholarship
- due to conflict with senior picnic, scholarship recipients were unable to attend today’s meeting as originally planned.
- Site Monitoring Reports
- Karissa and Jena explained to members that the grantee is continuing to work towards improving monitoring systems. Council reviewed the report with special attention to any areas of concern, non-compliances, or deficiencies. James suggested that next year, Policy Council members be invited to both delegate sites to have a better understanding of their programs.
- Program Instruction- funding increase-
- Members reviewed funding increase letter.
- COLA funding guidance letter
- Members discussed that more than the 1% of the money from the COLA would best be utilized to support our delegate programs given their wage comparability study and staff retention initiatives. The remaining funds for both programs will be used to offset higher operating costs such as benefits, supplies, food services and educational programming such as a zoo mobile and theatre group opportunities for children.

- Karissa gave a brief overview of each proposed summer school staff. Each of them are currently employed with Head Start or elsewhere in the school district. James shared that he had Mrs. Whitley when he was in Head Start. There was no opposition to hiring any of the candidates.

- Review upcoming engagement events-
- Policy Council members were all invited to Field Day festivities on the 14th and were presented Certificates of Recognition for their volunteerism and contributions to program this school year.

- Will be sent out electronically for approval over the summer.

Key Dates
- 6/2 Lunch Bunch 11 a.m. –12p.m. – WSS stage. Discuss how to support your child through Kindergarten transition with Brittney & Diann before joining him/her in their classroom for lunch. *Policy Council meeting 12–1:30 p.m., WSS Stage Conference Room, Pride Stride 1:10 p.m.
- 6/7– Movie Night 5–7 p.m.- bring the kids in their PJs for dinner and a movie. Laurie Turner from Community Health will be here to share vital information about dental health w/ parents. There will be a gift drawing as well.
