Mr. Kevin Whitaker
I am proud to serve the students and community of the Geneva City School District in the capacity of assistant superintendent for accountability and school improvement. I count myself fortunate to have been a part of this great school district for the past five years.
Prior to my current work in Geneva, I was the high school principal in Newark from 2003 to 2013, assistant principal and k–12 mathematics coordinator in the Churchville-Chili CSD from 1999–2003, assistant principal at Dake Middle School in Irondequoit from 1998–99, and high school and middle school teacher in the East Irondequoit CSD for seven years prior to that.
I am currently a doctoral candidate at the University of Rochester, with interests that lie in all things instructional and assessment, including a heavy dose of change and individualized student support. My research interests include early dropout detection and keeping students on the graduation path, as well as supporting under-represented populations at under-resourced schools.
Outside of my day-to-day work, I have been an educational consultant and presenter, a pilot, and have served my community as a captain in my local fire department and as an EMT with a volunteer ambulance corps. I enjoy spending any free time that I have with my wife and two daughters.
