Recess and Physical Education

    • Requirements and recommendations during recess and physical education are dependent on Ontario County’s CDC transmission level designation (low, moderate, substantial and high).
      • Outdoors
        • Low, Moderate, Substantial and High — Masking is not required.
        • Moderate, Substantial and High — Those who are not fully vaccinated are encouraged to wear a mask in crowded outdoor settings or during activities that involve sustained close contact with other people who are not fully vaccinated. 
      • Indoors
        • Low — No distancing requirements; masking is strongly encouraged but voluntary as long as social distancing can be maintained. 
        • Moderate, Substantial and High — Masks must be worn; distance will be maximized to the extent practicable.

School-Sponsored Sports and Extracurricular Activities

    • For all school-sponsored sports, student athletes, coaches and spectators will abide by the same school-day policies and procedures during athletic and extracurricular activities.
      • Universal masking, as tolerated, is required for student athletes in all indoor settings on campus. 
      • Universal masking is required for all coaches, spectators, officials, and visitors in all indoor settings on campus.
      • Masking is not required outdoors. 
      • In congested areas outdoors where physical distancing is not possible, mask wearing is strongly encouraged.
      • Student athletes must refrain from athletic activities when they have symptoms consistent with COVID-19 and must be tested.
    • Extracurricular recommendations are dependent on Ontario County’s CDC transmission level designation (low, moderate, substantial and high).
      • Moderate, Substantial or High — When participation occurs indoors, masks are required. 
      • Low — Those who are fully vaccinated no longer need to wear a mask or physically distance in any setting, while playing a sport or extracurricular activity. Those who are not fully vaccinated should continue to wear a mask and keep physical distance as much as possible while participating in indoor activities.
