Mr. Gregory Baker

Hello, I am Gregory Baker, and I am very proud to be the principal of Geneva High School! I firmly believe that the Geneva City School District is a gem and one of the best-kept secrets in the Finger Lakes!

I was educated right here in Geneva at Hobart College, where I majored in physics and minored in mathematics. Don't tell anyone, but Mrs. Budgar (the West Street School principal) and I actually graduated from HWS on the same day!  I became the physics teacher here at Geneva High School in the fall of 2000. I count myself as extremely privileged to have taught and worked with some amazing people during my tenure.

After earning my master's degree from St. John Fisher College in 2006, I worked as an assistant principal at Newark High School. Destiny led me back to GHS in the fall of 2011 as I fulfilled my dream of becoming the principal of the school that I have loved so much. The rest is history!

One thing you may not know about me is that I once recited several hundred digits of Pi from memory on television as part of a Pi day celebration (3/14). I also have a deep affinity and appreciation for MasterMinds and competed on a team in high school! One thing that I hope everybody knows about me is that I am an avid consumer of GHS student activities—everything from musicals to football games.

If you see me at one of these events, I may be wrestling my youngest daughter, but don't let that stop you from saying hello and sharing some Panther Pride!  I live here in Geneva with my family. Go Panthers!
