Mrs. Cindy Streber
As Director of Transportation for Geneva City School District, my role is to guide, monitor and support the school bus fleet, drivers, monitors, mechanics, and office staff. The Geneva transportation team’s main focus is the safety of students traveling to and from school, athletic events, field trips, math leagues and other extracurricular activities. Transportation links education, educational opportunities, and team events to children of Geneva. This connection promotes the district’s mission of educating and graduating all students with the essential skills and knowledge to live lives of consequence. Geneva transportation is very proud of the safety record of our school buses and the professionalism of our transportation team.
I began my professional career in 1996 as a school bus driver and progressed to school bus driver trainer in 2004. I hold licenses to instruct, test, and train school bus monitors, attendants, and drivers through the New York State Education Department (NYSED) and the New York State Department of Motor Vehicles (NYDMV). Since 2006, my role has been transportation management, with particular attention to special needs transportation. In 2011, I joined the Geneva School District Family. In 2013, I earned certification from the National Association of Pupil Transportation as nationally certified director of pupil transportation.
In May 2015, I graduated from the University of Phoenix with a triple master’s degree in human resources management, public administration, and business management. My advanced education provides knowledge and confidence to lead our Geneva team of transportation professionals.
In 2016, I earned Master Instructor status through the New York State Department of Education. The title of Master Instructor is the highest honor a pupil transportation professional can attain from NYSED. I am honored and excited to be a member of this district and the team of professionals who support the children of this community.
A special thanks to the parents of this community who support the school buses, drivers and monitors. Having your children ready for the bus rain, snow, or shine is truly appreciated. Our goal in the transportation department is to get to know parents and children of the community and provide safe, dependable transportation every day.
On a personal note, I come from a long line of family farmers and was raised with strong work ethics and family values. I have four children and eight grandchildren, who I am blessed to say all live here in New York. I enjoy family gatherings, gardening and taking the grandchildren to Yogi Bear Park at least once during the summer and Splash Lagoon at least once in the winter. The family is growing so much I need to trade my car in for a bus!
Thank you very much for trusting us to care for your children on our school buses.
