Degrees and Certifications:

Dr. Kevin Fairben

I have spent my entire administrative career in the Geneva City School District. During that time, I have worked as an administrator at NSS, GMS and GHS. These experiences have provided a broad perspective of a broad range of student developmental levels along with a unique perspective of how our initiatives have been implemented across the district over time. As the assistant principal in all those buildings, I have also gained valuable experiences working with staff from all departments to identify best practices in meeting student needs and supporting families so that they are partners with us in educating their children.

I received my bachelor’s degree in elementary education from SUNY Geneseo and returned to SUNY Geneseo to pursue a master’s degree as a reading specialist [N-12] to help develop critical readers and writers. I have 12 years of teaching experience at the elementary and secondary levels. The success I experienced connecting with and positively impacting students created a drive for me to further develop my knowledge as a learner. I enrolled in the University of Rochester’s (U of R) Educational Leadership Program, receiving a school building leader [SBL] and school district leadership certification. My lifelong learning continued after the administrative certification program, and I earned my doctoral degree at the Warner School of Education at the U of R in May 2021.

During my recreational time, you’ll probably see me working outside gardening, out on the Finger Lakes, or playing sports with my children, Anna and Eddie. I enjoy going on long walks with my wife, Erin, with our two labs, Mumford and Cobain.
