Capital Project Overview

  • On December 7, 2021, in the North Street School mini gym, Geneva City School District residents will have an opportunity to vote on a capital project that is being proposed to implement various health, safety, and educational program improvements at our buildings and facilities.

Our district is committed to providing a safe learning environment and well-maintained facilities for students and public use. Because of careful project planning, use of reserves, anticipated building aid, and consideration of our taxpayers, this project will have no additional tax increase for district residents and businesses.

We encourage you to learn more details about the project on our website and at the Public Information Meeting on Nov. 30 at 7 p.m. in the high school library. (Masks and social distancing will be required.)

More details will be posted soon.

Funding Sources

    • The project will be paid through two sources:
      • New York State Building Aid
      • School District Capital Reserves
    • Funding will result in a zero ($0) tax impact to the community
    • The finalized project scope will stay within the State designed debt limit
      • The project does not need New York State approval to exceed the debt limit
      • The project can be approved with a simple majority (over 50 percent) instead of a super majority (over 60 percent)
