Ready to Enroll?
All Geneva City School District residents between the ages of 5 and 21 are eligible to attend our schools free of charge. Children under 5 may be eligible to attend our universal pre-kindergarten or Head Start programs free of charge.
Enrollment Deadlines
There is no deadline to apply for K–12 enrollment, although kindergarten enrollment is encouraged by mid-April for the following fall. Enrollment in universal pre-kindergarten and Head Start occurs every spring.
K–12
Families enrolling students for K–12 must submit the following:

- K–12 Registration
- Student Racial & Ethnic Identification
- Residency Questionnaire
- Student Health Data
- Emergency Dismissal
- Absent Notification
- Transportation Request
- Home Language Questionnaire*
*The Home Language Questionnaire is a state form and will need to be downloaded and submitted in person or by mail to North Street School.
Supporting Documents
- Proof of age
- Proof of residency
- Proof of physical
- Proof of immunizations
- Custody papers or proof of guardianship, if relevant
What to Expect
Phase 1
- You must complete the Required Forms (see Requirements above)
- You must submit Supporting Documents (see Requirements above)
Phase 2
- We will request records from your student's previous school, if applicable
- We will review records upon receipt
Phase 3
- We will call you to set up an appointment, if necessary, and let you know your student's start date
- We will call you with your student's school bus information, if transportation was requested
Pre-K
Fast Facts
Universal Pre-K
- There is no cost.
- There are no income restrictions.
- Children must be 3 or 4 years old by Dec. 1 of the school year applied for.
- Space is limited and is filled by lottery.
- Classes are Monday–Friday, three hours per day (3-year-olds) or six hours per day (4-year-olds), and follow the school district’s calendar.
- Classes are provided at various community sites.
- Transportation is not provided.
Head Start
- There is no cost.
- Acceptance is subject to income restrictions.
- Children must be 3 or 4 years old by Dec. 1 of the school year applied for.
- Space is limited and is filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Classes are Monday–Friday, three hours per day (3-year-olds) or six hours per day (4-year-olds), and follow the school district’s calendar.
- Classes are provided at various community sites.
- Transportation is provided.

Before you start! Please ensure you have all parent/guardian, sibling, emergency contact, and medical provider information ready. You will also be asked to submit the following supporting documents:
- Proof of age
- Proof of residency

- We will conduct a lottery every spring and determine placement.
Phase 3
- We will let you know if your application was successful, and, if so, provide details regarding placement, start date, and schedule

- You must Schedule an Intake Interview to Apply for Head Start
- You must bring Supporting Documents (see Requirements above)
Phase 2
- We will let you know during your intake interview if you qualify, and answer any questions you may have
Phase 3
- We will provide details regarding placement, start date, and schedule, if your application is approved
