Geneva High School English teacher George Goga was awarded Youth Advocate of the Year from Success for Geneva’s Children and Geneva 2030.

Also receiving the award this year was Hwa Rang Kwan Master Micah Ehler.

Mr. Goga was nominated by a high school parent, Susan Pliner, who drew attention to many of Mr. Goga’s efforts to inspire students, among them his annual publication of The Elocutionist, a collection of high school student essays. The award was presented at Success for Geneva's Children and Geneva 2030's fall gathering on Sept. 21.

At the event, Geneva City School Superintendent Bo Wright joined community leaders Dr. Brian Fowler and HWS President Mark D. Gearan in addressing the group. The Success for Geneva’s Children 25th annual data report was also shared.
