Visiting artist teaches problem solving techniques
Posted Friday, Feb. 1, 2019 —
North Street School hosted artist Colin Coots for a visual arts residency. Mr. Coots, a graduate of the Cleveland Institute of Art, taught students how to use creative problem solving to produce art. He demonstrated and discussed how to approach common problems in art, such as how to create accurate proportions, as well as the habits and dispositions necessary to becoming successful artists.
The residency was part of the Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES Project ADEPT program, which provides enrichment programming to participating schools.
