The district has appointed a new athletic director.

Larry Lang, currently athletic director and director of IT in Red Creek Central Schools, will join the district on July 1 as the director of athletics, PE, health, and activities. He was appointed at the Board of Education meeting on March 14.

The athletic director post in Geneva has been filled on an acting basis since November by Mike Simon; the district’s previous athletic director, Tricia Budgar, has returned to an earlier position as principal of West Street School.

Mr. Lang has a Certificate of Advanced Study in educational administration from SUNY Oswego, a master’s in health education from SUNY Cortland, a bachelor’s in physical education from SUNY Brockport, and an associate’s in communications from Niagara Community College.

He has 24 years’ experience in teaching, coaching, and administration and has been athletic director at Red Creek since 2021. Before that, he was the director of PE and athletics in Clyde Savannah Central Schools for six years. He also has experience as a 6–12 assistant principal in Clyde-Savannah and an administrative intern and teacher in Seneca Falls Central School District. Mr. Lang has coached soccer, softball, baseball, basketball, and bowling.

Mr. Lang is also currently president of the Wayne County Athletic Association, a member of the Section V Athletic Council, and the Section V Athletic Executive Committee.

We look forward to having him on the team!
