Geneva City School District’s treasurer, Jesse Lambert, will take on the role of assistant superintendent of business and finance in December.
Ms. Lambert replaces Maureen Lee, who is stepping back from the assistant superintendency to take a position as grants coordinator. Ms. Lee came out of retirement in 2021 to serve as assistant superintendent.
Ms. Lambert has worked for Wayne Finger Lakes BOCES since 2019 as treasurer for Geneva, Shortsville, and Red Creek and has been interning for Geneva’s Office of Business and Finance since last year. Prior to her work in education, Ms. Lambert spent several years as an auditor at Raymond F Wager Division of Mengel Metzger & Barr.
“Jesse’s familiarity with our district finances will be a huge asset to us,” said Superintendent Bo Wright. “She has extensive knowledge in education and finance and has already established strong relationships within our district.”
“As the district’s fiscal manager at Wayne Finger Lakes BOCES, I have seen how the district has worked together to overcome many obstacles,” said Ms. Lambert. “I look forward to using my institutional knowledge of the district to support the district’s priorities. ... The most important job I have is to protect the financial integrity of the Geneva CSD. This is work that I have been doing for the past four years, and I look forward to coming to Geneva to continue that work now as a district administrator.”
“I’d like to thank Maureen Lee for coming out of retirement to help our district through a difficult period. It would be impossible to overstate the impact of her contributions to this district,” Mr. Wright said.
“Geneva City School District business office is fast-paced and challenging. I am proud of the work that has been done while being an interim,” said Ms. Lee. “This district deserves a school business official who is going to stay for several years to continue this work and who understands the challenges that are ahead. As a retiree, my time here was always meant to be short-term until we found a qualified candidate to assume the role. We are so fortunate that we have found that candidate in Jesse Lambert.”
“Maureen’s decision to stay on as grants coordinator will not only help with Jesse’s transition to the assistant superintendency but also ensure our district continues to leverage all possible resources in support of student programming,” said Mr. Wright.
“I am excited to become the new grants coordinator for Geneva City School District,” said Ms. Lee. “I understand the collaboration necessary between the business office and grants office. I bring a strong skill set as a former school business official to ensure that Geneva’s grants are administered efficiently and accurately.”
Ms. Lambert will complete her Certificate of Advanced Study as a school district business leader from SUNY Brockport this summer. She has a master’s in education administration from SUNY Brockport.
Ms. Lee retired as a school business administrator with Springville Griffith Institute Central School District in Springville, N.Y., before joining Geneva City Schools. She has a Certificate of Advanced Study as a school district business leader and a master’s degree in education, both from SUNY Brockport.

La tesorera del Distrito Escolar de la Ciudad de Geneva, Jesse Lambert, tomara la posición de superintendente auxiliar de negocios y finanzas en diciembre.
La Srta. Lambert remplaza a Maureen Lee, quien deja la superintendencia auxiliar para tomar una posición como coordinadora de becas. La Sra. Lee salió de su retiro en el 2021 para servir como superintendente auxiliar.
La Srta. Lambert ha trabajado para Wayne Finger Lakes BOCES desde el 2019 como tesorera para Geneva, Shortsville, y Red Creek y ha estado haciendo una práctica para la Oficina de Negocios y Finanzas de Geneva desde el año pasado. Antes de su trabajo en educación la Srta. Lambert pasó varios años como auditora en la División F. Wager de Mengel Metzger & Barr.
“La familiaridad de Jesse con las finanzas de nuestro distrito será una gran ventaja para nosotros” dijo el superintendente Bo Wright. “Tiene un extenso conocimiento en educación y finanzas, y ya ha establecido relaciones sólidas dentro de nuestro distrito”.
“Como gerente fiscal en Wayne Finger Lakes Boces, he visto como el distrito ha trabajado unido para sobrepasar muchos obstáculos”, dijo la Srta. Lambert. “Espero utilizar mi conocimiento institucional del distrito para apoyar las prioridades del distrito. … El trabajo más importante que tengo es proteger la integridad financiera del Distrito Escolar de la Ciudad de Geneva. Llevo haciendo este trabajo por los pasados cuatro años y espero venir a Geneva a continuar ese trabajo ahora cómo miembro de la administración del distrito”.
“Quiero agradecer a Maureen Lee por salir de su retiro para ayudar a nuestro distrito durante un período difícil. Es imposible exagerar el impacto de sus contribuciones a este distrito”, dijo el Sr. Wright.
“La oficina de negocios del Distrito Escolar de la Ciudad de Geneva es de un ritmo acelerado y es un reto. Estoy orgullosa del trabajo que se ha realizado mientras he sido la interina”, dijo la Sra. Lee. “Este distrito se merece un oficial de negocios escolares que se quede por varios años para continuar este trabajo, y que entienda los retos del futuro. Como empleada retirada, mi tiempo aquí siempre estuvo destinado a ser de corto plazo hasta que encontráramos un candidato cualificado para asumir el puesto. Somos muy afortunados de haber encontrado ese candidato en Jesse Lambert.”
“La decisión de Maureen para permanecer como coordinadora de becas no sólo ayudará con la transición de Jesse a la superintendencia auxiliar, sino que también asegurará que nuestro distrito continúe aprovechando todos los recursos posibles en apoyo a la programación para estudiantes”, dijo el Sr. Wright.
“Estoy entusiasmada por convertirme en la nueva coordinadora de becas del distrito escolar de la ciudad de Geneva” dijo la Sra. Lee. “ Entiendo la colaboración necesaria entre la oficina de negocios y la oficina de becas.

La Srta. Lambert completará su certificado de estudios avanzados en SUNY Brockport este verano como líder de negocios de distrito escolar. Tiene una maestría en administración de educación de SUNY Brockport.
La Sra. Lee se había retirado como administradora escolar de negocios del Distrito Escolar Central de Springville Griffith Institute en Springville, N.Y., antes de unirse a las Escuelas de la Ciudad de Geneva; Posee un certificado de estudios avanzados como líder de negocios de distrito escolar y una maestría en educación, ambos de SUNY Brockport.
