Students welcome Honor Flight

Posted Wednesday, Sept. 12, 2018 —

Several students from Geneva Middle School and Geneva High School traveled with their teachers to welcome veterans at Rochester International Airport. The veterans were returning from their annual Honor Flight. Honor Flight Network is an organization created to honor America’s veterans for all their sacrifices. The non-profit transports the veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at their memorials. Top priority is given to the senior veterans – World War II survivors, along with those other veterans who may be terminally ill.

Geneva City School District students participate in a number of ways, including writing letters to the veterans, creating welcome signs, and greeting them at the airport every year.
