GMS students win accolades at Skills Competition

Geneva’s students brought home first and second place medals from the Annual Skills Competition this year at BOCES Finger Lakes Tech and Career Center in Stanley. Natalie Budgar and Victoria Poworznek won first place in Art for Preschoolers, Chandler Church won first place in Backhoe Skills (breaking the school record for the fastest time), Alayna Russ and TyTiana Russ won first place for Health Bowl, and Danijah Jackson won second place in CSI. School districts from throughout the Finger Lakes region compete in 23 different categories at the annual competition. This year, 21 Geneva Middle School students attended, accompanied by teachers Ashia Gray and Karen Patricio.
