West Street School Principal Tricia Budgar will take over as the Geneva City School District’s interim director of Athletics, Health & Activities for the 2019–20 school year.
Mrs. Budgar has been our West Street School principal since 2015 and has been with the district since 2006. She began as a high school English teacher before becoming an instructional coach and then associate principal of the Freshman Academy. Mrs. Budgar has a bachelor’s in English from Hobart and William Smith Colleges, a master’s in secondary education from SUNY Brockport, and a Certificate of Advanced Study from the University of Rochester.
“For the past 13 years, I have had the opportunity as a teacher and administrator at Geneva High School and West Street School to see our students grow, and now I am thrilled to support them in a new capacity as the director of Athletics, Health & Activities,” said Mrs. Budgar. “I am really looking forward to working to strengthen opportunities for our student athletes in my new role. The strength of our programs comes from the strength of our community. I look forward to an exciting year for Geneva sports. Go Panthers!”
West Street School Assistant Principal Susan Meskos will now serve as principal of that building. Additionally, the assistant principal position at West Street School is being moved to North Street School, where there will now be two assistant principals: Heather Eysaman, who currently holds that position, and Christine Taylor, who is currently the intern assistant principal at North Street. The change comes as a result of the reduction of West Street School from PK–2 building to PK–1.
